How it works
Your guests sit back and breathe. The device and our team handle the rest.
Settling
The device prepares the salt climate. Then let it settle for about 15 minutes, so larger particles fall out before guests enter the room.
Breathing
Sit back and breathe normally. The ultra-fine, dry salt aerosol is carried deep into the airways with every breath.
Stable climate
After a single generation the climate stays stable for about 3 hours, for 10–20 guests at a time, with no constant supervision.
Why dry salt aerosol?
Salt walls and bricks release almost no salt into the air, and wet brine sticks to the upper airways. AREC's dry aerosol stays fine and airborne, at a measured concentration of about 8 mg/m³.

Who is it for?
- Wellness centres and spas
- Hotels and spa hotels
- Clinics and rehabilitation centres

Guest safety
Guests with fever or an acute infection, during an acute asthma attack, with severe heart or lung disease or active tuberculosis should not use the room. Guests with a chronic illness, pregnant women and small children should check with their doctor first. Mild extra coughing early in a course is expected and a typical effect of the salt climate; wheezing, breathlessness or chest tightness are a reason to stop and see a doctor.
Favourable opinion from the University of Debrecen
In 2003 the Regional and Institutional Research Ethics Committee of the University of Debrecen Medical and Health Science Centre reviewed the study protocol of the AREC aerosol inhalation therapy, gave a favourable opinion and recommended the method for funding support (Prot. No. 2104-2003).
