Salt therapy course in Hajdúszoboszló: what to expect

If you are coming for salt therapy for the first time, you probably have lots of questions: how many sessions are needed, how long does it take, what should you bring, can your child come too? If you are interested in salt therapy in Hajdúszoboszló, in this article we show step by step what a salt therapy course in AREC's climate room in Hajdúszoboszló involves.

What is a climate room?

A climate room is a comfortable, calm relaxation space where a salt generator disperses finely ground, dry rock salt into the air, recreating the microclimate of a salt mine. It is not a decorative salt-brick room: there really is salt in the air. You can read about the differences in this article.

How the course works

  1. Initial consultation: our team will ask what complaints you are interested in it for, whether you have any known conditions, and what medication you take. For children, we discuss this with the parent.
  2. Number of sessions: a course typically consists of 20 sessions; regularity is what matters.
  3. Duration: one session lasts roughly 25–40 minutes, depending on age. The first sessions are shorter, so the body gets used to the salt climate gradually.
  4. During the session: you sit comfortably, read, chat or relax. Children can play. You breathe normally; no special breathing technique is needed.
  5. Afterwards: many people report a pleasant, "refreshed" feeling when breathing. A mild extra cough or scratchy throat is expected, especially at the start of the course.

What to bring

  • comfortable clothes,
  • a book or a quiet activity,
  • for children, a favourite toy or colouring book,
  • your fast-acting inhaler, if you use one,
  • a little water for afterwards.

Who we recommend it for, and who not

Many people choose a salt climate as a complementary option that supports wellbeing, for example for recurring respiratory complaints, during allergy season, or simply to relax. It is important to note that the effect of salt therapy has not yet been clearly confirmed by large scientific studies, and it does not replace medical treatment. Prescribed medication must be continued during the course.

Please do not come to the course if:

  • you have a fever or an acute infection,
  • your asthma is currently getting worse, or you recently had an attack,
  • you cough up blood,
  • you have a serious heart or lung condition and have not discussed it with your doctor.

If you have a respiratory condition, it is a good idea to talk to your doctor before the course.

Children in the climate room

Many families with small children visit our climate room. Children can play with their own toys, so salt therapy feels like an activity rather than a treatment. Younger children take part accompanied by a parent. Read more: Salt therapy for children.

After the course: continue at home

If you enjoy the salt climate, you can continue at home after the course with the SaltClimate Family salt generator, which you can buy directly from us. Read more: Home salt therapy.
